Field note01
Tropical rainforest
La Selva Biological Station
A field study of sexual selection in millipedes, designed around direct observation and comparison in the rainforest ecosystem.
As part of Dartmouth’s Biology Foreign Study Program, I spent 3 months in Costa Rica conducting hands-on ecology research and exploring its diverse ecosystems. It was an incredible experience, and I got to work on some really cool projects with amazing friends who are just as passionate about science, nature, and exploring the world as I am.
The map below highlights all the places we visited, from tropical rainforests to coastal research stations, each offering a unique environment for our studies.Choose a marker to see the research question I studied at each field station.
